GREENVILLE, Pa.--Despite trailing by as many as nine points in the opening quarter, the Westminster women's basketball team rallied for a 71-65 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory at Thiel Wednesday evening.

Westminster (7-11, 4-5 PAC) had four players in double figures, led by sophomore Maddie Syka's (Darlington, Pa., Lincoln Park) 12-point, four-rebound, four-assist effort. Junior Grace Cano (Greenville, Pa., Greenville), sophomore Angelina Brush (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional) and freshman Bella Calcamuggio (Sylvania, Ohio, Notre Dame) all finished with 11.

Issy Green registered a 19-point, 11-assist double-double for Thiel (6-12, 1-8 PAC).

The Titans erased an early nine-point deficit to go up five, 21-16, heading into the second quarter. Westminster extended its lead to as many as 10, 38-28, on a Cano layup with just under a minute left and went into the locker room up seven, 38-31. Cano and Brush had six points apiece in the first quarter. Junior Kennedy Arison (Medina, Ohio, Akron Hoban) stretched the Titans' lead to 14, 55-41, after knocking down a three-pointer with 32 seconds left in the third. Emily Betsinger answered with a three-pointer of her own with 11 seconds remaining to cut the lead to 11, 55-44, going into the fourth. Arison drilled her second three of game with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter to push the lead to 11, 67-56 before Brush hit a pair of free throws with 11 seconds left to seal the win.

Westminster's reserves provided an offensive punch by outscoring their counterparts 28-17, including a 17-5 first half margin. The Titans made 10 of their season-high 31 three-point field goal attempts. It was their third game of the year reaching double-digit made three-pointers.
