Women's soccer falls at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio--The Westminster College women's soccer team was dealt a 4-0 loss by John Carroll inside Don Shula Stadium Wednesday evening.

Westminster fell to 0-3-2 this season. John Carroll upped its record to 4-2-1.

John Carroll scored two goals in the first 14 minutes of the first half before adding another in the 52nd minute. The Blue Streams netted their fourth score in the 89th minute. Four different players scored for John Carroll.

Senior Amanda Lewis (Slippery Rock, Pa., Slippery Rock) and freshman Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) each had shots, with Puhala registering the lone shot on goal for Westminster.

Senior Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) and junior Emily Codere (Shelton, Conn., Shelton) shared time in net. Murphy played the first 82 minutes and made nine saves while Codere played the final eight minutes. 

John Carroll outshot Westminster 31-2 and held a commanding 13-1 edge in shots on goal. John Carroll took eight corner kicks in the match while Westminster took just two. 

Up Next:
Westminster hosts Buffalo State this Saturday. The match is scheduled to get underway at 1 p.m. at the UPMC Sports Complex.
