Westminster downed in PAC quarterfinal

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio--The Westminster College men's tennis program suffered a 4-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament quarterfinal loss to Franciscan University Tuesday evening at the Belleview Courts.

Westminster, the No. 6 seed, concluded its season with a 5-8 record. Franciscan, the No. 3 seed, improved to 10-6 and will travel to No. 2 seed Grove City College Thursday for a semifinal matchup.

Westminster's lone victory came at No. 3 doubles, with sophomore Hayden Kenny (Pittsburgh, Pa., Keystone Oaks) and junior Colin Fabich (Erie, Pa., Harbor Creek) cruising to a 6-0 win against Jeremiah Greve and Joel Capelli. The duo of Kenny and Fabich finished the year with a 4-2 doubles record.

The match concluded after Franciscan secured the doubles point and then won three singles matches in a row (1, 6, 4).
