Davis wins 400 hurdles, finishes fourth in high jump at Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.--Graduate students Breannda Davis (Streetsboro, Ohio, Streetsboro) and Madison Conley (New Castle, Pa., New Castle), along with junior Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview), each won individual events at Slippery Rock University's John Papa Invitational Thursday afternoon. 

Davis finished first in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1 minute, 06.21 seconds. She also finished fourth in the high jump with a top mark of 1.60 meters (5-03). Rambo was first in the discus, registering a season-best throw of 43.37 meters (142-03), and 10th in the shot put with a throw of 12.51 meters (41-00.50). Conley won the pole vault, clearing 4.00 meters (13-01.50). 

Junior Missy Treharne (Burton, Ohio, Beaumont School) was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.40 meters (11-01.75). Junior Ryann Essey (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) was fifth in the 400 hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:09.85. She also tied for 11th in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 16.59 and tied for 13th in the high jump (1.45m, 4-09). Senior Lexi Shiderly (New Castle, Pa., Mohawk) finished eighth in the shot put with a season-best throw of 12.75 meters (41-10). 

Sophomore Jenna Zendron (West Sunbury, Pa., Moniteau) finished ninth in the 100 meters with a season-best time of 12.75 and ninth in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 26.28.

Westminster will look to defend its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) outdoor title Thursday-Friday, May 1-2 in Morgantown, W.Va.
