NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Westminster College Director of Athletics Jason Lener has announced the hiring of Mike Blasko as the head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs.

Blasko spent two years as the head coach of Wilmington High School girl's tennis program, working to develop individualized training programs, conducting skills assessments and educating players on game strategies and rules while also leading practice sessions and drills to aid in overall player development. He was an assistant coach under previous head coach Jim Arrow for two years before taking over the program.

"We are pleased to welcome Mike to our Titan family and excited about the future of our men's and women's tennis programs," said Lener. "A leader who values growth both on and off the court, he is going to do a fine job working with our student-athletes and supporting our efforts to ensure student success."

A 1990 Mohawk High School graduate, Blasko has been active in the New Wilmington community for years, serving as longtime Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) president and working with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) since 2020. He currently serves as advancement chair and advisor of the Kuskitannee Lodge BSA Order of the Arrow, representing Moraine Trails Council in Western Pennsylvania.

Westminster (2-2 in fall) opens its spring season on Friday, March 21 against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Thiel College. Matches are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. in Greenville.
