Titans picked third in PAC preseason coaches' poll

TRAFFORD, Pa.--The Westminster College women's swimming and diving program was picked to finish third in this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. This year's results, voted on by the conference's nine head coaches, were released along with the PAC Swimmers and Divers to Watch list Wednesday afternoon. 

Grove City, last year's champion, was picked first with 64 points and eight first-place votes. Saint Vincent was picked to finish second with 56 points while Westminster totaled 49 points and earned the final first-place vote. W&J was forth (41), Chatham was fifth (35), Allegheny was sixth (31), Franciscan was seventh (25), Hiram was eighth (12) and Bethany was ninth (11).

Westminster had four named to the Swimmers and Divers to Watch list: Juniors Maddy McClain (Elizabeth, Pa., Elizabeth Forward) and Annabelle Turner (Butler, Pa., Butler) and freshmen Brianna Reinhart (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Allegheny) and Rachel Rospierski (Erie, Pa., Fairview)

McClain was named Second Team All-PAC last season. At last year's championships, McClain finished second in the 1650 and third in the 500. She was honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors for the 2024-25 season. Turner finished seventh in the 200 fly.

Grove City is set to serve as host the PAC Championships once again at the James E. Longnecker Competition Pool, which has been the home of the PAC Championships since 1990. The four-day event will be held Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 18-21. 

The NCAA Division III Region 4 (Northeast/South) Diving Championships are slated for Friday-Saturday, Feb. 27-28.

The Division III Championships are scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday, March 18-21 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of Indiana University-Indianapolis. The event will be hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corp. 

Westminster opens its season Friday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. with a home dual against Edinboro.
