Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Titans fall at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH--The Westminster College men's soccer program was dealt a 5-1 loss by Carnegie Mellon University Sunday afternoon. 

Carnegie Mellon improved to 2-1-1 with the win Sunday. Westminster fell to 0-2-2. 

Senior forward Dylan Weiss (South Park, Pa., South Park) drilled an unassisted goal 53 seconds into the match. It was his first since scoring in a 4-0 shutout win over Heidelberg University last September. 

Carnegie Mellon's Jake Slackman evened the match 23 seconds after the Weiss goal. Robert Lloyd scored off Justin Fung's assist in the 17th minute to stake the Tartans to a 2-1 lead before Slackman netted his second goal of the match off Tristan Gonzalez's assist in the 32nd minute. Carnegie Mellon outshot Westminster 12-2 in the first half and had seven shots on goal to the Titans' one. 

After the break, Nathan Yao scored an unassisted goal for Carnegie Mellon in the 76th minute. Jaimin Fee added another unassisted score in the 88th minute. 

Junior Noah Wolford (Butler, Pa., Butler) made three first half saves. Sophomore Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) finished with three saves in the second. 

Carnegie Mellon finished with advantages in shots (18-2) and shots on goal (12-1) and had an 12-0 edge in corners created. 

Westminster hosts La Roche University at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the UPMC Sports Complex.
