Robison scores a pair in PAC-opening setback

WAYNESBURG, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer program fell in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) lidlifter Wednesday night, losing to Waynesburg University 5-3 at John F. Wiley Stadium. 

Westminster is now 3-3-2 overall while Waynesburg improved to 5-2. Wednesday was the Yellow Jackets' second-straight win over the Titans. Both matches finished with Waynesburg winning 5-3. 

Mason Lewis gave Waynesburg an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute, scoring off Zachary Johnson's assist. 

Down 1-0 at the half, senior midfielder Mason Baldwin (Seven Fields, Pa., Seneca Valley) evened the match at 1-1 in the 46th minute. Baldwin's goal came off a double assist from senior forward Connor Schmidt (Evans City, Pa., Seneca Valley) and freshman midfielder Nisho Simon (Kapolei, Hawaii, Mililani). Johnson netted a breakaway score in the 47th minute to give Waynesburg a 2-1 lead.

Senior forward Brady Robison (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) struck twice early in the second to give Westminster a 3-2 lead. In the 64th minute, he scored off Schmidt's assist before registering a goal off an assist from senior forward Dylan Weiss (South Park, Pa., South Park) a minute later. It was Robison's first multi-goal game of his career. 

Sarpong Kwabiah gathered a Michael Kanu assist and scored in the 67th minute, tying the match at 3-3, before Josh Smith's unassisted score in the 73rd minute gave the Yellow Jackets a 4-3 advantage. Kwabiah's second goal of the match came on a left-footed blast in the 86th minute that closed out the scoring. 

Sophomore Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) made five saves in the loss. 

Waynesburg finished with a 20-14 edge in shots and had 10 shots on goal to Westminster's six. Waynesburg took six of the 11 corner kicks.

Saturday, Westminster will travel to Geneva College for a 7:30 p.m. match at Reeves Field.
