Westminster draws at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va.--Westminster College's men's soccer program played to a 1-1 draw with Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Bethany College Saturday afternoon at Hoag Field.

Westminster's record now sits at 5-8-3 overall and 2-6-1 in the PAC while Bethany is 1-11-3 overall and 1-5-3 in the PAC. 

Bethany broke through in the ninth minute when Pablo Aguilera scored off Samuel Bedoya's assist. It was Aguilera's first goal this year. The Bison carried the 1-0 lead into the break. In the 49th minute, freshman forward Steven Morrison (Orlando, Fla., Jones) evened the match at 1-1 after scoring off an assist from senior defender Joshua Glaser (Indiana, Pa., Indiana). It was Morrison's third goal of the season.

Bethany outshot Westminster 21-15 and had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Bison outcornered the Titans 4-2. Twenty-two fouls were whistled and seven yellow cards were issued (4-Westminster, 3-Bethany).

Westminster will wrap up its regular season against Washington & Jefferson College Wednesday night at the UPMC Sports Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.
