NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's basketball team was dealt a 58-49 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss by visiting Saint Vincent College at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

Fifth-year senior Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, Pa., Brentwood) led all scorers Saturday with 15 points. She added six rebounds and a pair of assists. Graduate student Camden Hergenrother (Salem, Ohio, Cardinal Mooney) finished with 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Senior Katie Fitzpatrick (Cumberland Center, Maine, Greely) chipped in with seven points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

Emily Thompson and Lizzie Bender each had 14 points to pace Saint Vincent. Thompson had five rebounds and two assists while Bender added seven rebounds and three steals. Camdon Bashor finished with 12 points, six assists and three rebounds.

Saint Vincent, up 9-8 after one, outscored Westminster 21-8 in the second quarter and went into halftime leading by 14, 30-26. Bender scored eight of her 14 in the second quarter.

With Saint Vincent nursing a 10-point lead, 35-25, six and half minutes into the third, Westminster stormed back with an 8-0 run to close the quarter and pulled to within two, 35-33, heading into the fourth. An 8-2 scoring run to begin the fourth pushed the Titans ahead by four, 41-37, just over three minutes into the final quarter. Fitzpatrick scored five of the Titans' eight points to close out the third and Hergenrother's three-pointer with just over 30 seconds left in the quarter trimmed the lead to two. Westminster outscored Saint Vincent 17-5 in the third.

The Bearcats and Titans traded leads midway through the fourth. Murrio tied the game at 47 with a pair of made free throws with 3:27 to go in regulation, but Basher and Bender combined for six-straight points to help stretch Saint Vincent's lead to five, 54-49, with under a minute to play. Bender converted a pair of free throws with under 20 seconds left that extended Saint Vincent's lead to eight, 57-49, before Thompson split a pair of free throws late to close out the scoring.

Westminster shot just 28.3 percent (17-60) from the field and made 5-of-24 (.208) three-point field goal attempts. The Titans finished 10-of-13 (.769) from the free throw line. The Titans' defense limited Saint Vincent to 38.9 percent (21-54) shooting from the floor and 13.3 percent (2-15) from the three-point line. The two made three-pointers for the Bearcats Saturday was the lowest total since going 1-of-11 against Marietta in the season opener. Saint Vincent went 14-of-19 (.737) from the free throw line.

Westminster outrebounded Saint Vincent 42-34 but were outscored 24-18 in the paint. Both teams scored 17 points off of their opponents' turnovers.
