Titans fall to Allegheny

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) decision against Allegheny College Thursday evening at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Allegheny improved to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the league. Westminster fell to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in PAC action.

Freshman attack Emma Brazier (Northport, N.Y. | Northport) tallied two goals on four shots and three being on goal with two draw controls. Junior midfielder Nina Rascona (Somerset, Pa. | Somerset) had an assist, four draw controls, three groundballs and a caused turnover. Senior midfielder Stephanie Cimini (Mars, Pa. | Mars) finished with one goal, one draw control, two groundballs and one caused turnover.
Brazier was able to put two in the back of the net to give Westminster a 2-1 advantage 11 minutes into the first period. Allegheny scored three goals to gain a 4-2 lead at the end of the first. The Gators outscored the Titans 5-0 in the second to push the lead to 9-2 at halftime. 

After six unanswered goals by Allegheny, Cimini scoored off of Rascona's pass to cut the deficit to 12, 15-3, with 7:56 left in the game. Allegheny would add two more before the game ended.

Senior Jaden Domaratz (Springdale, Pa. | Springdale) made 10 saves for Westminster. 

Allegheny out shot Westminster 38-10 and finished with a 31-7 edge in shots on goal. The Gators finished 15-of-18 on clear attempts, while the Titans were 12-of-20. 

Westminster will host Saint Vincent College Tuesday, April 11 at the UPMC Sports Complex. The opening draw is set for 7 p.m.
