Cummins named PAC Golfer of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster College senior Calen Cummins (Allison Park, Pa. | Hampton) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Golfer of the Week Monday afternoon. 

Cummins averaged 73.0 strokes in three rounds last week, including two rounds of par or lower. At Mercyhurst University's Spring Invitational Friday and Saturday, he was third with a two-round score of 147, as he fired a one-under 71 Friday and a 76 Saturday. Cummins was the runner-up at Gannon University's Spring Invitational Sunday, posting an even par 72.

Westminster finished as runner-up at both events, posting a team score of 606 Friday and Saturday at the Lake View Country Club in North East before registering a team score of 303 at Whispering Woods Golf Club in Erie.

Westminster will compete in the third and fourth rounds of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Friday-Saturday, April 21-22. This year's spring championship rounds are being hosted by the Mill Creek Golf Club in Boardman, Ohio. The men will play a pair of rounds on the South Course. 

The Titans pace the eight-team championship field with a two-round team score of 603 (310-293) after the two fall championship rounds and own a five-stroke lead over Allegheny College. Cummins is tied for 13th after posting a two-round score of 158 (83-75) last fall. 

Westminster won its second-straight PAC title last spring.
