NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College baseball team opened its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) schedule Monday with a pair of setbacks against Grove City College, falling 4-2 in game one before suffering an 11-0 (7 inn.) loss in game two.

Westminster fell to 5-10 this season. Grove City improved to 14-4.

Westminster will travel to Allegheny College Tuesday. The conference doubleheader is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Game 1: Grove City 4, Westminster 2
The Titans struck first in Monday's opener, as graduate student outfielder Seth Schrader (Fredonia, N.Y. | Fredonia) smacked a one-out, two-run single in the bottom of the first inning. Grove City evened the score at 2-2 in the fifth on Mally Kilbane's two-run double and went up 4-2 in the seventh on a two-out, two-run double by Josh Minnich

Tate Ostrowski improved to 5-0 with the victory. He allowed two runs (2 earned) on five hits with two walks and 13 strikeouts in 7.2 innings. Evan Umland threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. Kilbane finished 3-of-3 with two walks, two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.

Sophomore starter Jake Vitale (New Castle, Pa. | Union) fell to 2-3 this season, allowing four runs (0 earned) on four hits with five walks and three strikeouts in 7.0 innings. Sophomore Dwight Parker (Youngstown, Ohio | Liberty) allowed one hit and walked one in 2.0 relief innings.

Game 2: Grove City 11, Westminster 0 (7 inn.)
A seven-run second inning fueled Grove City's run-rule victory in the nightcap. Kilbane's bases-clearing double highlighted the frame. The Wolverines would add single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

David Leslie allowed just one hit in the seven-inning complete game effort. He walked two and struck out three.
