WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster men's tennis team remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in shutout fashion with a 9-0 blanking of Washington & Jefferson on the road Saturday.
"Today the guys focused really well," said head coach
Jeff Layman. "Played one point at a time and kept W&J from getting any momentum going."
Westminster (7-1, 2-0 PAC) was led by first-year
Ellian Ascencio (Venetia, PA / Peters Township) who won No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, and teamed up with junior
Sam Scotford (Poland, OH / Poland Seminary) for an 8-1 No. 1 doubles win.
Washington and Jefferson dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the PAC.
The Titans next host Waynesburg on Monday, April 4 at 4 p.m.
