Titans fall at home

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's basketball team was dealt a 69-61 loss by Grove City in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Saturday afternoon at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Senior Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Brentwood) scored a season-high 29 points for Westminster (5-2, 2-2 PAC). She was 12-of-18 from the field and 5-of-9 at the free throw line. Murrio added six rebounds and a steal. Senior Katie Fitzpatrick (Cumberland Center, Maine | Greely) totaled nine points, eight rebounds and three assists. Senior Lindsay Bell (Youngstown, Ohio | Ursuline) finished with six points and a season-high 12 boards. 

Westminster shot 41.9 percent (23-55) from the floor and 57.7 percent (15-26) from the free throw line. The Titans went 0-for-9 from three-point range Saturday. Westminster finished with a 42-31 edge in rebounding. 

Westminster trailed 18-15 after the first quarter and went into the half tied 33-33. 

Murrio's jump with 38 seconds left in the third cut Grove City's lead to two, 47-45. Fueled by a 10-1 spurt to open the fourth, Grove City pushed its lead to 57-46 in the fourth before earning the eight-point win. 

Megan Kallock paced Grove City with 18 points. Kat Goetz finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Grove City shot 42.0 percent (29-69) from the field and made 5-of-13 (38.5%) three-point field goals. 

Westminster continues PAC play at Bethany Tuesday, December 13. Tip-off at Joe Kurey Memorial Court in Hummel Field House is scheduled for 3 p.m.
