Westminster men rally from 1-0 deficit to post 2-1 PAC soccer win

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College men's soccer squad rallied from a 1-0 deficit to post a 2-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference victory over visiting Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday night.

 

Sophomore forward Connor Schmidt (Evans City, Pa./Seneca Valley High) and graduate student forward Tyler Caterino (Monessen, Pa./Monessen High) scored 29 seconds apart at 56:36 and 56:07, erasing the 1-0 deficit. Jason Moleiro scored with 51 minutes remaining for W&J.

 

For Titans' taskmaster Girish Thakar, Westminster  (3-3-2, 8-5-2) was keyed by senior goalkeeper Jad Jadallah (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield High) made 8 saves in 90 minutes, while his W&J counterpart, Charles Boldosser made 3 saves during his 90-minute stint.

 

W&J (3-3-2, 6-6-2) out-shot Westminster, 16-13 (9-5 in shots-on-goal), including a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

 

Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Westminster welcomes Thiel College in the annual Senior Day match.
