NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster men's soccer team won, 2-0, against Point Park at home on Sunday.
The Titans' defense held strong throughout their matchup with the Pioneers, limiting their offensive production. During the 19th minute, sophomore
Antonio Ulizzi (Coraopolis, PA / Montour) found the back of the net for the first goal of the game. A few minutes later, junior
Jacob Shulock (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) assisted first-year
Adrian Jimenez (Kennesaw, GA / Allatoona) on scoring a goal. Westminster took its 2-0 lead to intermission.
As the second half was underway, the Titans picked up where they left off. The stifling Titan defense continued to hold the Pioneers at bay.
The Titans outshot the Pioneers, 15-8 (including 9-1 on-goal). Westminster had a 15-5 corner kick advantage.
Westminster is back on the field on Thursday, September 9 as it plays at Wooster College. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
