NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's tennis team opened their season with an 8-1 win over Pitt-Greensburg at home Saturday afternoon.
The Titans won No. 2 through No. 6 singles, led by junior
Sabrina Slagle (Upper St. Clair, PA / Upper St. Clair) at No. 2 winning 6-2, 6-0 over Miranda Berkebile.
Westminster swept the doubles competition, led first-year duos of
Gia Francisco (Canfield, OH / Canfield) and
Emma Sukal (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) at No. 1.
The Titans are back on the courts Saturday, Sept. 11 as they host an invitational, starting with a match against Thiel at 9:30 a.m.
