NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's soccer team lost, 2-1, to Heidelberg University at home Monday night.
Heidelberg (7-1-0) got on the scoreboard in the 12
th minute off the foot of Bekah Thomas who gathered in a loose ball and found the back of the net. Victoria Perez extended the Student Princes' lead shortly after off a free kick.
Westminster (6-1-1) cut Heidelberg's lead in half when first-year
Natalie Vilchek (West Newton, PA / Yough) registered her first collegiate goal. First-year
Mackenzie Avery (Youngstown, OH / Cardinal Mooney) earned the assist.
The Titans outshot the Student Princes, 30-12, including 16-6 on-goal. Vilchek had a game-high five shots-on-goal. Westminster also edged Heidelberg in corner kicks, 5-4.

Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) collected four saves in a complete game. Heidelberg's Meredith Bruce had a game-high 15 saves.
Westminster, who had its winning streak snapped at five games, will open its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Wednesday, September 29 with a home game versus Geneva at 5 p.m.
