PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The No. 3 seed Westminster College women's soccer team lost, 4-2, in penalty kicks against No. 2 seed Chatham University on the road in the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) semifinals on Wednesday. 

In the early stages of the game, Westminster (6-1-3) fired four shots on net, with three coming from sophomore Julia Redilla (Cranberry Township, PA / Seneca Valley) in hopes to break the scoreless tie, however, the game was scoreless at intermission. In the second half, Chatham (7-1-2) outshot the Titans 8-7 but both goalkeepers held firm and sent the game into overtime. Chatham had the advantage in the first overtime frame, putting two shots on Titan junior netminder Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman), but none got past Holzschuh and the game went to double overtime. Westminster generated a good chance in the 104th minute, when sophomore Sophia Kaplan (Mentor, OH / Mentor) put a shot on net, but Chatham goalkeeper Tyler Colburn stopped it and the game had to be decided by penalty kicks. 

In the best of five penalty kicks, Chatham took a 1-0 lead after the first round of shooters. Senior Josephine Barnhart (Saint Petersburg, FL / Saint Petersburg) converted her PK in the second round to keep Westminster afloat. The Cougars extended their lead to 3-1 after the third round of attempts. Senior Marissa Grande (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) made good on her attempt in the fourth round to extend the game, however, Chatham's Malia Hinton scored on the next penalty to end the contest. 

Chatham outshot the Titans (19-14) and narrowly bested them in shots on goals (11-10). Chatham held the edge in corner kicks (7-2). Holzschuh tied a season-high with 11 saves in a complete game effort.

Westminster ends the season with a record of six wins, one loss and three draws. Westminster did not lose in regulation time all season.
