BEAVER, Pa. – The Westminster women's tennis team defeated Geneva, 8-1, on the road in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup on Monday to improve to 6-1 (6-0 PAC).
The Titans swept the doubles competition, highlighted by an 8-1 win by senior
Casey Barton (New York City, NY / Dominican Academy) and first-year
Caroline Fox (Acton, CA / Vasquez) in the No. 2 spot. Barton and Fox also took down their opponents in straight-set wins at No. 2 (6-2, 6-4) and No. 5 (6-4, 6-1) singles, respectively. Westminster also picked up singles wins from first-year
Amanda Barrett (Sarasota, FL / Suncoast Polytechnical) in the No. 1 spot, sophomore
Sabrina Slagle (Upper St. Clair, PA / Upper St. Clair) at No. 3 and junior
Sara Small (Beaver, PA / Beaver Area) at No. 4. Laura Lin Comollo picked up the only win for Geneva (3-4, 3-4 PAC) at No. 6 singles.
The Titans will be back on the court Thursday, April 15 for a road match against Grove City.
