NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's lacrosse team lost, 23-9, at home to Washington & Jefferson in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Saturday afternoon.
 
Washington & Jefferson (5-0, 3-0 PAC) scored first five minutes into the game, courtesy of Amanda Effland. First-year Samantha Reed (Zionsville, PA / Emmaus) tied it up for Westminster (1-5, 1-2 PAC), four minutes later, after receiving a pass from sophomore Ava Krensky (Bethesda, MD / Walter Johnson) (Reed's first of two career-high goals on the day). The Presidents took a 3-1 lead with two-straight goals, however, Krensky cut W&J's lead to 3-2 with an unassisted goal with 17 minutes left. The Presidents started to pull away with a 7-1 run and led 10-3 with 10 minutes remaining. Sophomore Stephanie Cimini (Mars, PA / Mars Area) and senior Marisa Keller (Canonsburg, PA / Canon-McMillan) scored back-to-back goals, bringing the score to 10-5. The Presidents outscored the Titans 4-2 for the remainder of the half and led 14-7 at halftime. W&J kept the Titans at bay in the second half, with a 9-2 goal advantage.
 
Titan junior goalkeeper Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) collected eight saves in a complete-game effort. Krensky led the Titans tying a career-high six points, including a career-best two assists. Keller followed with three goals. Senior Cortlynn Douds (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) led the Titans with a season-high two caused turnovers.
 
The Titans are back on the field at home against PAC foe Saint Vincent Tuesday, April 13 at 7 p.m.
