NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's lacrosse team played their first game at the UPMC Sports Complex at home on Sunday. The Titans lost, 17-2, to Thiel in a non-conference game.
Thiel (2-0) led 5-0 before Titan senior
Cortlynn Douds (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) scored the first Westminster goal at the 16:04 mark in the first half with a jump shot. Douds followed with her career-high second goal, cutting Thiel's lead to 6-2 at 12:20, after receiving a pass from sophomore
Stephanie Cimini (Mars, PA / Mars Area) and finding the back of the net. The Tomcats maintained their lead for the rest of the game.
Titan senior
Marisa Keller (Canonsburg, PA / Canon-McMillan) tied a game-high with four ground balls. Cimini tied a game-high with two caused turnovers. Junior
Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) got the start at goal and earned 10 saves in a complete-game effort.
Westminster will next play at Franciscan University on Saturday, March 27, at 12 p.m. in its final non-conference game.
