NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's tennis team opened their 2020-21 season with an impressive 8-1 win over the reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Champion Washington & Jefferson at home on Sunday.
The Titans swept the singles competition, led by first-year
Amanda Barrett (Sarasota, FL / Suncoast Polytechnical) in her collegiate debut with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over the Presidents' Maya Krishnasamy. Barrett also teamed up with senior
Julia Serbati (Oil City, PA / Oil City Area) for an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles over W&J's Maya Krishnasamy and Julia Schaffer. The Presidents' spoiled the shutout with a tiebreaking win at No. 3 doubles.
Westminster will next play Wednesday, March 17 with a home match versus Bethany scheduled for 4 p.m.
