ERIE, Pa. – The Westminster women's tennis team won, 7-2, on the road against Penn State Behrend on Wednesday.
Westminster (9-0) won four singles matches and all three doubles matches. The Titans were led by first-year
Gia Francisco (Canfield, OH / Canfield) who won, 6-3 and 6-0, in her matchup against Marissa Bowles in No. 2 singles. Francisco teamed up with classmate
Emma Sukal (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) to secure an 8-0 victory in No. 1 doubles.
Titan seniors
Sara Small (Beaver, PA / Beaver Area) and
Sabrina Slagle (Upper St. Clair, PA / Upper St. Clair) earned an 8-3 win in No. 2 doubles. Small also won her matchup in No. 3 singles.
The Titans are back on the court on Saturday, October 9 as they travel to Washington, Pa. to take on the Presidents in a PAC showdown. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
