NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster volleyball team swept Chatham, 3-0, at home on Senior Day Saturday afternoon in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup to finish the regular season a perfect 18-0 in the conference.

The perfect conference record is Westminster's second-straight and third overall (2020: 8-0; 2002: 12-0).

Senior Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) notched her 1,000th career kill during the match, becoming only the 12th Titan to ever to achieve the feat. Steward finished the day with 1,003 career kills – surpassing Janie Cebula (1993-96) for 11th all-time.

During the first set, Westminster (26-4, 18-0 PAC) went on a 4-0 run, three different times to stop Chatham (18-7, 13-5 PAC) in its tracks and won the set (25-14). As the score was tied (14-14) in the second set, the Titans would proceed to score 11 of the next 12 points to shut down the Cougars' hopes of salvaging a set victory. Westminster was full tilt as it went on a 10-0 run to open the final set. The Titans rode the early momentum to a 25-10 win.

Titan senior Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) led the charge with a match-high 12 kills, followed by classmate Steward with 11. Senior Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) registered match-bests in assists (27) and service aces (4). Sophomore Malia Duffy (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) made her presence felt on defense with a match-high 16 digs.

The Titans recognized their four seniors prior to the match: Steward, Adelman, Kelly, and Anna Lalama (New Castle, PA / New Castle).

Westminster has locked up the No. 1 seed for the PAC Championship Tournament and will have a First Round bye and hosting rights. The Titans will face the winner of the #4 Thiel/#5 Grove City First Round match at home on Thursday, November 4 in the PAC Semifinals at 7 p.m.

Admission to all PAC Championship Tournament matches is $5 for adults and $2 for students, with students at PAC host institutions admitted for free with valid identification. Westminster College campus policy requires masking at all indoor events. Wearing a mask will be required to attend the volleyball matches.
