WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Westminster College men's lacrosse team won, 14-4, in a non-conference contest on the road against Carroll University (WI) on Wednesday.
Westminster (2-5) scored three of the first four goals of the game to lead 3-1 at the end of the first quarter, In the second quarter, Carroll (1-4) scored the first goal of the frame to make the score 3-2. The Titans proceeded to score two more times and took a 5-2 lead into intermission. In the third quarter, the Titans erupted to the tune of seven straight-goals to stretch their lead to 12-2 at the end of the quarter and cruised to victory.
Westminster outshot Carroll (47-22) and led in ground balls (44-28). The Titans also bested the Pioneers in faceoffs (15-8).
Freshman
Ryan Greer (Cranberry Twp, PA / Seneca Valley) registered a game- and career high three goals to lead the way for the Titans. Greer also notched a pair of assists. Titan senior
Chris Slater (Plum, PA / Central Catholic) matched Greer with three goals of his own. Titan sophomore
Joe Rosa (Newton, NJ / Kittatinny Regional) totaled four points on a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Freshman goalkeeper
Connor Doyle (Glen Aubrey, NY / Glen Aubrey) earned the victory after making six saves in net.
Westminster will be back in action on Saturday, March 14 when it takes on Carthage College (WI) on the road at 1 p.m to finish its Wisconsin road trip.
