NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster College men's tennis team lost, 6-3, to non-conference opponent Baldwin Wallace University on Friday at the North Ridge Tennis and Golf Club.
Westminster won two singles matches and a doubles contest. Junior Collin Kelly (McDonald, PA / Canon MacMillan) won No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-3, and first-year George Oliver (Pittsburgh, PA / Quaker Valley) was victorious at No. 6 Singles, 6-1, 6-0. Junior Miguel Ascencio (Venitia, PA / Peters Township) lost a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). The duo of sophomores Logan Mannhiermer (South Park, PA / South Park) and Noah Weiss (South Park, PA / South Park) outlasted their opponent at No. 3 doubles, 8-7 (7-4).
The Titans dropped to 2-2 overall, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 3-0.
Westminster will next play at Penn State Altoona on Sunday, March 1 starting at 1 p.m.
