Men’s Basketball: O’Hara’s Career-Day Guides Westminster Past Geneva

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team shot a season-best, led by senior Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) who had a career-high 36 points, in its 79-71 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over Geneva College at home Wednesday evening.

Titan senior Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) was 14-of-20 from the field, including game-highs in three-pointers (4) and steals (4) and had six rebounds. O'Hara's 36 points were the most by a Titan in a single game in seven years and tied the most by any PAC player this season. Westminster junior Isaac Stamatiades (Elkridge, MD / Avalon) notched his 10th double-double of the season with a game- and career-high 18 rebounds, to go along with 22 points. Stamatiades' 18 rebounds sits second in the PAC this year. Westminster shot a season-high 53.7% (29-54) from the field, including 65.52% (19-29) in the first half.

Up 14-11 with 14 minutes on the clock in the first half, Westminster (13-10, 8-6 PAC) orchestrated a 9-0 run, consuming two minutes, and led 23-11. The Titans had their largest lead of the game of 16 points (33-17) when senior Preston Stitt made a three with 8:50 on the clock. Down 35-20, Geneva (10-12, 6-7 PAC) went on a 12-0 run to cut the Titans' lead to 35-32 with just under five minutes left. Westminster stayed in front and led 44-37 at halftime.

Westminster started the second half with an 8-2 run to take a commanding 13-point, 52-39 lead. The Golden Tornadoes started to storm back with a 14-7 run, cutting Westminster's lead to six points (59-53), but that would be the closest they would get for the rest of the game.

The Titans will next travel to Bethany College on Saturday, Feb. 15 for their final road game of the regular season. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
