NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College Women's Tennis team remained undefeated on the season following its fourth-straight shutout on Thursday afternoon.
The Titans defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Waynesburg University by a final score of 9-0 to jump to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the PAC. Waynesburg fell to 1-1 and 0-1 in the PAC.
Seniors
Margo Mason (Pittsburgh, PA / Chartiers Valley) and
Alex Marzouca (Kingston, Jamaica / Immaculate Conception) both claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, dispatching their opponents by scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively. Junior
Julia Serbati (Oil City, PA / Oil City Area) won in #3 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-0, while fellow junior
Casey Barton (New York City, NY / Dominican Academy) won her match in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Marzouca and Mason also remained undefeated in No. 1 doubles, claiming a 8-2 victory, while Serbati and first-year
Sabrina Slagle scored a 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
The Titans will be back on the court tomorrow when they welcome the University of Mount Union to New Wilmington for a non-conference tilt at 4 p.m.
