NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's lacrosse team lost, 9-8, to Division I Hampton University at home Wednesday night.

Hampton (4-2) had a comfortable 9-3 lead with just over seven minutes to play in the game. Westminster (3-3), however, netted five unanswered goals and just came up short in its rally attempt. Titan junior Adrian Culp (Gaithersburg, MD / Quince Orchard) led the offensive spark with three points, including two goals (6:25, 0:15) and an assist. Senior Ryan Shorts (Westlake Village, CA / Oak Park) scored two goals (2:11, 1:14) and freshman Joe Rosa (Newton, NJ / Kittatinny Regional) scored once (0:49). Shorts now has a team-high 16 goals on the season.

Rosa tied with Culp and Shorts for a team-high two goals on the night. Sophomore Shane Fisher (Palm Harbor, FL / East Lake) and junior Dylan Wolford (Apex, NC / Apex) each had a goal. Wolford scored his goal on Westminster's first possession of the game less than a minute and half into the contest, to put the Titans up 1-0.

Titan junior Dante Serra (Center Valley, PA / Southern Lehigh) earned a team-high four ground balls, while senior Matt Trella (Moon Twp, PA / Moon Area) registered a game-high three caused turnovers. Titan senior goalkeeper Carter Hall (Zeeland, MI / Zeeland West) collected 13 saves, his fourth game this year with double-digit saves, in a complete-game effort.
