NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College volleyball team shut out the Saint Vincent College Bearcats at home by a score of 3-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Semifinals on Thursday evening.

No. 1 Westminster (25-6) swept No. 4 Saint Vincent (16-18) by the scores of 25-22, 25-11, and 25-19.

Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) led with a match-high 14 kills and tallied 23 digs. Sophomore
Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) followed with nine kills. Senior
Haley Farmerie (Manor, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) and sophomore
Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) added seven kills each, while first-year
Kaylee Sciubba (Tarentum, PA / Deer Lakes) had five kills. Sophomore
Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) dished out a match-high 18 assists, while junior
Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) was right behind with 17. Senior
Josie Toporcer (Warren, OH / Lordstown) registered a match-high 24 digs.
The back-and-forth first set included nine ties. Saint Vincent took an early 4-1 lead. Westminster battled back and took its first lead, 10-9, after a kill by Adelman. The ninth tie of the frame occurred at 18 all, following a kill by Farmerie. The Titans took the lead and did not trail for the remainder of the set. Westminster held match point at 24-21 and won the set, 25-22, courtesy of a kill by DeGeorge. The Titans dominated the second set as they jumped out to an 8-1 lead and had a commanding 20-4 advantage. Westminster had match-point at 24-7. The Bearcats clawed out four-straight points, however, the Titans went up 2-0 with a 25-11 set two win. In the final set, Westminster went up 5-1. Saint Vincent battled and took its first lead of the set at 11-10 and eventually held a 14-12 lead. The Titans responded with a 5-0 run to lead 17-14. Westminster held off the Bearcats, including closing the set with three-straight points.
With the win, the Titans advanced to the PAC Championship Game this Saturday, which will be held at home vs. No. 2 Geneva College at 4 p.m.
