YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster College men's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snap following a 93-67 loss at Division I Youngstown State University Wednesday night.
The Titans (4-2) were up 5-0 two minutes into the game, capped off with a jumper by senior
Blake Payne (Ashtabula, OH / Jefferson Area). The Penguins (4-3) started pulling away with a 23-3 run and led 23-8 with 11 minutes left. YSU led 53-23 at halftime. Westminster outscored Youngstown State, 44-40, in the second half.
Three Titans scored in double-digits, led by senior
Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) with 13 points, including a game-high three three-pointers. Junior
Josh Hutcherson (Uniontown, OH / Uniontown Lake) scored a career-high 11 points, while tying a game-high with a career-best six rebounds. Senior
Blake Payne (Ashtabula, OH / Jefferson Area) registered 10 points. Sophomore
Aaron Iler (Leavittsburg, OH / LaBrae) added a career-high seven points. Juniors
Isaac Stamatiades (Elkridge, MD / Avalon) and
Daniel Ritter (North Lima, OH / South Range) each grabbed five boards. Stamatiades and junior
Anthony Ritter (North Lima, OH / South Range) both had six points. Senior
Ricky Roth (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) dished out a team-high three assists.
Westminster is back on the court Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Chatham University for its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
