WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team improved to 10-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) with a 3-0 win at Waynesburg University Thursday night.
Westminster (21-1), riding on a 13-match winning streak, won by the scores of 25-22, 25-11, and 25-22. The shutout was Westminster's 12th overall this year and fourth against a conference opponent.
Waynesburg (2-18, 0-10 PAC) was up 18-17 in the first set. After a Titan timeout, Westminster went on a 6-0 run to take a 23-18 lead. The Yellow Jackets got within 23-22, however, the Titans won two-straight points to secure the first set. The Titans dominated the second set, which included a 17-4 lead. In the third set, Westminster jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held off Waynesburg for the rest of the set.

Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) registered a match-high 10 kills, to go along with eight digs. DeGeorge surpassed Janie Cebula (1993-96) for 10
th all-time in school history in career kills (1,010). Sophomores
Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) and
Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) added eight and five kills, respectively. Sophomore
Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) dished out a match-high 15 assists and earned a team-high three aces. Adelman tied senior
Haley Farmerie (Manor, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) for a match-best three blocks. Senior
Josie Toporcer (Warren, OH / Lordstown) led the Titan defense with a match-high 29 digs, followed by Steward (15) and Kelly (10).
The Titans are back in action Saturday, Oct. 19 at Saint Vincent College's tri-match, starting with a PAC contest against Saint Vincent at 11 a.m.
