NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 66-58, to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Geneva College at home Saturday afternoon.
Westminster (4-11, 2-4 PAC) started the game with an 8-0 run, capped off with junior

African Grant II (Warren, OH / Warren JFK) for a dunk, with 14:33 on the clock. The Titans, who never trailed in the first half, led by as much as 12 points (23-11) following a layup by junior
Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) with seven minutes left. Geneva (6-7, 3-2 PAC) continued to battle and got within as much as five points of Westminster's lead, 32-27 – the halftime score. Roth led all scorers with 10 points at intermission.
The Golden Tornadoes took their first lead of the game, 35-34, with 17:44 on the clock. Four ties ensued before the game was tied at 46. Geneva regained the lead and went on an 8-2 run to take a 54-48 lead with 6:41 remaining. The Titans got within one-point of Geneva's lead twice, with the latest one at the 1:31 mark when sophomore
Isaac Stamatiades (Elkridge, MD / Avalon) split a pair of free throws (59-58). Geneva sealed the win as it finished strong, outscoring the Titans 7-0 for the remainder of the contest.
Stamatiades registered his second career double-double with a game-high 14 points and a team- and career-high 11 rebounds. Two other Titans scored in double-digits in junior
Dylan O'Hara (Girard, OH / Girard) (11) and Roth (10). Grant and Roth grabbed down nine and seven rebounds, respectively. O'Hara added six boards. Junior
Blake Payne (Ashtabula, OH / Jefferson Area) totaled six points and five rebounds.
Geneva outshot Westminster 42.9% (27-63) to 30.1% (22-73). The Titans held a slight 47-45 advantage in rebounds.
The Titans will next travel to Bethany College Wednesday, January 9 with a 7:30 p.m. start time.
