ERIE, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team won both of its matches in the final day of the Northwest PA Challenge on Saturday. Penn State Behrend hosted both matches.
 
Titan senior Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) was named on the All-Tournament Team.

Westminster (7-1) won, 3-2, over Penn State Behrend (4-3) in game one and swept D'Youville College (0-9), 3-0, in game two.
 
In game one, Penn State won set won, 25-23. The Titans responded with a convincing set two victory, 25-11. The Lions took a 2-1 advantage with a 25-20 set three win. Westminster edged Penn State, 25-23, in the fourth set. In the final set, the Lions led 13-12, however, the Titans won three-straight points, capped off with a service ace by junior Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John), to win the match. Titan senior Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) registered a match-high 18 kills. First-year Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) and DeGeorge added 16 and 10 kills, respectively. First-year Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) earned a match-best three service aces, to go along with 17 assists and 11 digs. Senior Shanna Daniels (Hermitage, PA / Billy C. Ryan) dished out a team-high 27 assists. Senior Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) led the Titan defense with 29 digs, while Steward and DeGeorge each had 15. Sophomore Megan Steele (Corry, PA / Corry) and Saxton had a team-high three blocks apiece.
 
Against D'Youville, Westminster won set one, 25-17, set two, 25-18, and set three, 25-20. Steward led the Titans in kills (9) and digs (13), to go along with three service aces. First-year Becky Adelman (Mogadore, OH / Waterloo) and Maya Thornton (Clarion, PA / Clarion Area) each had five kills. Senior Mackensie Garris (Meadville, PA / Saegertown) led Westminster with a match-high four service aces. Kelly had a team-high 12 assists, followed by sophomore Hannah Santom (Grove City, PA / Grove City) with eight. Daniels added three aces. Thornton also had 12 digs, while Moore and Garris each had 10. Adelman tallied a match-best three blocks.
 
The Titans will next play in their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener at Geneva College on Wednesday, September 12 at 7 p.m.
