Women’s Soccer: Titans Earn Second Shutout of the Season with Win at Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team shut out Penn State Altoona, 2-0, on the road in non-conference action Wednesday night.

First-year Ashley McNabb (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) put the Titans on the board with the first goal of her collegiate career at the 12:53 mark in the first half. McNabb connected on a shot from a corner kick off the foot of senior Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic).

Birsic added insurance less than two minutes later after first-year Ashley Frank (Mentor, OH / Mentor) split defenders with a through ball in the box. Birsic now has a team-high three goals on the year.

Titan first-year goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman), the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, improved to 3-0 on the year after collecting three saves in 83:55 minutes of work.

For the game, the Titans outshot the Lions, 20-11 and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kick (5-0 in the second half).

Westminster will next host the University of Mount Union in its home opener Saturday, September 8 at 3:30 p.m.
