STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster College women's soccer team shut out Franciscan University, 1-0, on the road Wednesday afternoon.
The lone goal of the game came at the 39:59 mark of the first half when Titan senior
Emily Irvine (Cheswick, PA / Deer Lakes) found sophomore
Jocelyn Gillette (Natrona Heights, PA / Highlands) for a goal. The goal marked Gillette's first of the season and second of her career.
Titan first-year goalkeeper
Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) earned her second shutout of the season after collecting three saves in 90 minutes of work.
Westminster outshot Franciscan, 13-9, including 6-3 on goal. The Titans had three corner kicks, while the Barons had none.
The Titans improved to 4-1 on the season, while the Barons dropped to 1-3.
Westminster is back in action Saturday, September 15 at home against Susquehanna University at 1 p.m.
