Men’s Tennis: Ascencio and Foremski Will Represent Titans in Championship Rounds in Day Two of PAC Championships

ERIE, Pa. – The Westminster College men's tennis team competed in day one of the two-day Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tennis Championships on Friday, which are being hosted by the Pennbriar Athletic Club.
 
Titan freshman Miguel Ascencio (Venitia, PA / Peters Township), who beat Grove City's Jon Fleet, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, in the semifinals, will compete in the number one singles championship against Saint Vincent's Jonathan Prichard on Saturday. Ascencio beat Prichard on April 11 earlier this season (6-2, 6-2). Also competing for a singles championship for Westminster is senior Kornel Foremski (Heights, OH / Shaker Heights) at fourth singles against Washington & Jefferson's Max Perilstein. Foremski defeated Grove City's Damon Deck, 6-4, 6-4, in the semifinals. Ascencio and Foremski, who won, 8-6, over Grove City's Andrew Graber and Zack Sprunger in the number one doubles semifinals, will play Thomas More's duo of Derrick Kwok and Jared Haught for the title. Ascencio and Foremski won, 9-8, against Kwok and Haught on March 23 of this year.
 
The Titans are currently fifth with 21 points. Ascencio was named on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
 
Saturday's consolation and championship finals, beginning with all six doubles matches, will get underway at 8:30 a.m.
