KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Westminster College softball team fell to non-conference opponents Muskingum University, 6-2, and Lebanon Valley College, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon.

In game one, the Fighting Muskies and Titans were deadlocked at zero through the first three innings. Muskingum (6-0) scored first in the top of the fourth off the bats of Sarah Aispuro and Karsyn Shaffer, giving the Fighting Muskies a 2-0 lead. In the top half of the sixth, Muskingum scored four runs to take a 6-0 advantage. In the bottom of the same inning, Westminster (2-3) got on the board off the bat of senior Courtney Cohen (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington). One batter later, senior Addie Dieterich (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) drove in another run to shorten the Muskingum lead by four (6-2). Muskingum, however, got out of the sixth and held the Titans to zero runs in the seventh, winning by the same score. Titan junior Kailey Liverman (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) went 2-for-2 with one run and one walk. Senior Jazmyn Rohrer (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove) finished 2-for-3. Rohrer pitched six innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out seven batters.

In the nightcap, Lebonan Valley (2-2) scored first in the bottom of the first inning, scoring two runs to lead, 2-0. Westminster (2-4) answered in the top half of the next inning, as Cohen doubled to left center field, scoring Rohrer. Senior Courtney Dieterich (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) singled in the next at-bat and Cohen scored on a wild throw by the Dutchman's second baseman to tie the game at two. Lebanon Valley would score two runs in the bottom of the third (4-2) and add one insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to extend its lead, 5-2. Cohen went 1-for-3 with one RBI, while senior Nicole Anderson (Oakmont, PA / Riverview) finished 2-for-4. Senior Hannah Ritter (Front Royal, VA / Skyline) pitched a complete game for the Titans.
