BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Westminster College football team won, 21-7, at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Geneva College in its regular season finale Saturday afternoon.
The Titans improved to 7-3 overall and 7-2 in the PAC, while the Golden Tornadoes dropped to 2-7 overall and 2-6 in the league.
The Titans took a 7-0 lead with 10:18 remaining in the second quarter after senior
Shamon Walker (Pittsburgh, PA / Milton Hershey) capped off a 14-play, 71-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run. Walker now has a team-high eight rushing touchdowns for the season.
The Golden Tornadoes answered on their ensuing possession with a 9-play, 61-yard drive and tied the game, 7-7, with a 23-yard run by Trewon Marshall with just over five minutes remaining in the half.
Westminster quickly regained the lead on its next possession and it only took two plays. Freshman quarterback
Cole Konieczka (Coraopolis, PA / Moon Area) found senior
Bryson Paulinellie (DuBois, PA / Dubois Area) for nine yards and followed that with a 58-yard touchdown toss to junior
Connor Cox (Ridge, MD / Leonardtown). The score Konieczka marked the first of his collegiate career.
Konieczka extended Westminster's lead with 11:01 left in the fourth quarter as he found junior
Joey Joy (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) for a three-yard touchdown pass, capping off a 10-play, 52-yard drive.
Konieczka finished the game 19-of-26 for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cox led all receivers with five catches for 101 yards, his second 100-yard game of the year. Junior
Bryce Hill (Boynton Beach, FL / Boca Raton Community) ran for a game- and career-high 76 yards on seven carries (10.9 average).

Travis Lauster (Prospect, PA / Slippery Rock) registered team-highs in tackles (9) and tackles for a loss (2), to go along with a sack. Junior
Joey Lane (Frederick, MD / Oakdale) and senior
Miguel Luis (Hollywood, FL / Mater Academy) each had eight tackles (including a sack for Lane), while senior
John Fitzgerald (Youngstown, OH / Youngstown East) and junior
Garrett Bishop (Fombell, PA / Riverside) each tallied seven tackles.
The Titans outgained the Golden Tornadoes 446 (265 passing, 181 rushing) to 166 (42 passing, 124 rushing).
