Women’s Soccer: Trozzi’s Last Second Goal Lifts Titans Over Bearcats

LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Saint Vincent College, 1-0, on the road in the final seconds of regulation Saturday afternoon.

Westminster improved to 12-3 overall on the season and 5-0 in conference play, while Saint Vincent fell to 4-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in PAC action.

Westminster outshot the Bearcats, 11-2, in the first half but could not muster up a goal. With just 23 seconds left to play, first-year Ashley Frank (Mentor, OH / Mentor) found junior Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) for the go ahead and eventual game-winning score. The goal was Trozzi's second game-winner of the season, while the assist was Frank's fourth of the year. Frank is now tied for sixth in assists in the PAC.

Senior Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) totaled a game-high seven shots and three shots on goal. Sophomore Regan Moorhouse (New Castle, PA / Neshannock) tallied three shots and one shot on goal. First-year goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) registered three saves in a complete-game shutout, her fifth on the season and is tied for first in the conference in that category.

Westminster is back on the field Wednesday, October 17 on the road at PAC foe Bethany College. Start time is set for 7:30 p.m.
