HIRAM, Ohio – The Westminster College women's soccer team started the 2017 campaign with a thrilling 2-1 double overtime victory against Franciscan at the Hiram College Tournament. Today's game was their first of two games at the tournament.
Titan sophomore
Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) scored both goals for the Titans. Trozzi's first goal came in the 40
th minute and was assisted by junior
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic). Birsic found Trozzi again early in the second overtime. Trozzi chipped the ball over Franciscan's goalie Sarah Luebking and found the back of the net with 6:13 left in double overtime.

Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) made crucial saves late in the game, including a 77
th minute near-post save that stopped a Baron counter attack. She registered a total of eight saves on the evening.
The Titans outshot the Barons 19-16 and shot eight corner kicks, compared to Franciscan's three.
The Titans (1-0-0) will next play host Hiram College (1-0-0) in its final game of the Hiram Tournament on Sunday, September 3 with a 5:30 p.m. start time.
