NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's lacrosse team won, 23-2, over La Roche College in a non-conference game at home Wednesday night.
Sophomore
Ryan Shorts (Westlake Village, CA / Oak Park) and sophomore
Luke Ostoyic (Kentson, OH / Kenston) both registered a team-high nine points, while setting a new school record. Ostoyic's game-high nine goals also set a new school record, while Shorts tied a school record with a game-high four assists. Freshman
Chris Slater (Pittsburgh, PA / Central Catholic) tallied seven points (four goals and three assists). Freshman
Adrian Culp (Gaithersburg, MD / Quince Orchard) added four points (three goals and one assist), while freshman Dylan Wolford (Apex, NC / Apex) earned three points (one goal and two assists).
Titan freshman
Chris Ryczaj (Pittsburgh, PA / Central Catholic) gathered in a school-record and game-high 16 ground balls. He was also 25 for 26 in face offs. Sophomore goalkeeper
Carter Hall (Zeeland, MI / Zeeland West) only allowed one goal, while earning four saves, in 52 minutes of work.
Westminster (4-2) led 10-0 at halftime and 21-0 through three quarters of play. La Roche (0-8) spoiled the shutout with a goal at the 10:25 mark in the fourth quarter.
The Titans outshot the Redhawks 57-15, including 37-7 on goal. Westminster also held a 61-19 advantage in ground balls.
Westminster is back on the field Saturday, April 1 at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. at 1 p.m.
