WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Westminster College baseball team won, 2-0, at Waynesburg University in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener in a nine-inning game on Friday.
Titan sophomore
Michael Douds (Erie, PA / Cathedral Prep) scored the only runs of the game with a two-run single to right center field in the first inning, bringing home freshman
Jaret Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles McKinley) and freshman
Connor Cox (Ridge, MD / Leonardtown).
Titan junior pitcher
Joseph Salmen (New Castle, PA / Union) improved to 2-0 in the complete-game shutout, only allowing four hits. He struck out four and walked two.
The Titans improved to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in the PAC, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Westminster is back on the field Saturday, March 25 with a home doubleheader against the Yellow Jackets. Game one is slated for 2 p.m.
