NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) today selected junior Joseph Salmen (New Castle, PA/Union) as its Titan Athlete of the Week.
 
Salmen picked up a nine-inning, complete game victory in Westminster's 4-3 win over Gettysburg College on March 14 in Fort Pierce, Florida. The junior righty allowed one earned run (3 runs) on nine hits. He struck out a career-best 13 without issuing a walk. Salmen also hit .476 last week for the Titans, finishing with a team-high 10 hits and six runs scored.
 
The Titans (3-8) are back on the field Friday, March 24 with a nine-inning game at Waynesburg University for their Presidents' Athletic Conference opener with a 3 p.m. start time.
