WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The eighth-seeded Westminster College women's basketball team lost, 71-50, at fourth-seeded Waynesburg University in the 2016-17 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Quarterfinals Wednesday evening.

Emily Fromknecht (Erie, PA / McDowell) grabbed down a team-high eight rebounds, to go along with four points. First-year
Kayla Bennett (Kent, OH / Theodore Roosevelt) added six boards. First-year
Aliya Gage (New Castle, PA / Mohawk) had four rebounds and a team-best three steals. Quinn and Sicari each dished-out a team-high two assists. First-year
Brooke Lyczek (Cranberry PA / Seneca) earned a block.
The Yellow Jackets outshot the Titans 38.8% (26-67) to 27.5% (14-51) and outrebounded them 48-36.
Waynesburg (16-10), in front 4-3, orchestrated an 8-0 run to take a 12-3 lead with 3:47 remaining in the first quarter. Westminster answered with a 6-0 run to cut the Yellow Jackets' lead to 12-9, capped off with a pair of free throws by Mathews, with 1:07 remaining. The Yellow Jackets led 15-9 at the end of one. Waynesburg opened the second quarter with a 9-2 run and took their largest lead of the half, 24-11, with 6:49 left. The Titans answered with an 11-2 run, capped off with two made free throws by Lyczek, to cut Waynesburg's lead to 26-22 with 3:57 left. Waynesburg led 30-22 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets outscored the Titans 19-9 in the third and were in front 49-31 at the end of three. Waynesburg maintained its double-digit lead in the fourth and had its largest lead of the game, 71-42, with 1:26 remaining.
Westminster finished the season 11-16 overall and 5-13 in the PAC.
