NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team shut out Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Geneva College, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon.
Westminster improved its record to 7-5 (2-1), while Geneva dropped to 4-7 (1-2).
Westminster first-year
Skylar Bryant (Boardman, OH / Boardman) scored the first goal with just under two minutes gone by in the first half. Bryant took two touches and struck a shot that hit inside the right post and into the back of the net. In the 27
th minute, Titan sophomore
Kaelyn Puhalla (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) connected from 15 yards out, making the Titan lead, 2-0, going into halftime.
Puhalla scored her second goal of the game in the 60
th minute, receiving a pass from Titan sophomore
Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) and using one touch from the right side of the 18-yard box to score. Trozzi added a goal of her own as she collected a deflected ball off of a penalty kick in the 63
rd minute.
Titan junior
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) finished the game with four shots, one on goal. Puhalla and Trozzi each totaled five shots, four on goal and first year
Corrine Larson (Grayslake, IL / Grayslake Central) tallied two shots, one of which was on goal.
Westminster senior goal keeper
Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) tallied nine saves in a complete game effort.
