PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team won, 80-64, at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Chatham University Wednesday night.
Four Titans scored in double-digits, led by junior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) who registered his seventh double-double of the season with 17 points and tied a career-high with a game-best 16 rebounds. Sophomore
Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) (14), junior
Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) (12), junior
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) (12), and senior
Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) (11) also scored in double figures. Vrabel added seven boards, while freshman
Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) had five. Vrabel and Armwood each dished out a game-high four assists. Vrabel added a game-high six blocks, while Pilarski pocketed a team-high three steals.
Westminster outshot Chatham 46.0% (29-63) to 32.8% (21-64) and rebounded the Cougars 47-37.
The Titans never trailed the entire game. Leading 10-5 in the first half, the Titans extended their lead 13-0, capped off with a three-pointer by Armwood, and led 23-5 with 12:53 on the clock. Westminster led 37-21 at halftime. In the second half, the Titans maintained their double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest. Westminster had its largest lead of 23 points twice in the second half, with the latest coming with 3:36 on the clock.
