STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster College women's soccer team won its third-straight shutout after a 2-0 win at Franciscan University (3-2) in a non-conference contest on Thursday.
Sophomore
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) put the Titans in front, 1-0, with a successful penalty kick at the 14:56 mark.
First-year Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Kaelyn Puhalla (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) added insurance with a goal at the start of the second half.
Birsic and Puhalla are now tied for a team-leading two goals on the season.

Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned the shutout win, while collecting six saves.
For the game, Westminster out-shot Franciscan 21-8.
The Westminster win snaps a Franciscan three-game winning streak.
Westminster (3-2-1) will next compete at Juniata College on Saturday, September 17 with a 1 p.m. start time.
